


TROY, N.Y. – The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) have announced seven physicians from Seton Health / Capital Region Family Health Care and Mechanicville Family Health Center have been recognized for providing quality care to patients with diabetes.
The Diabetes Physician Recognition Program was designed to improve the quality of care that patients with diabetes receive by recognizing physicians who deliver quality diabetes care and motivating physicians to document and improve their delivery of diabetes care. The physicians from Capital Region Family Health Care receiving recognition are Paul Barbarotto, DO, Dr. Mary Kyle Dyer-Martin, DO, Dr. William Fischer and Dr. Michael Katz. The seven physicians recognized demonstrated performance meeting the Diabetes Physician Recognition Program key diabetes care measures. The measures include eye exams, blood pressure tests, nutrition therapy and patient satisfaction. Patients receiving the care measures are less likely to suffer from heart attacks, stroke, blindness, kidney disease and amputations.
