TROY, N.Y. – Seton Health’s Outpatient Diabetes Center recently earned an accreditation by the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE). Accreditation ensures patients with or at risk for diabetes receive comprehensive and effective diabetes education services. Seton Health is one of 12 organizations in New York State to receive the accreditation.
Seton Health’s Outpatient Diabetes Center is designed for children and adult patients with new or preexisting diabetes. Professional diabetes educators instruct patients to confidently manage the day-to-day concerns of living with diabetes. The program focuses on the AADE seven self-care behaviors including healthy eating, being active, monitoring, taking medication, problem solving, health coping and reducing risks. Seton Health also offers a monthly support group to help patients manage their diabetes.
