Cronin served as the manager of the hospital gift shop for 22 years and now, approaching her 100th birthday, sells raffle tickets in the hospital lobby. Cronin has raised over $100,000 in raffle funds for the Seton Health Auxiliary, which has been used to purchase new state-of-the art equipment for locations throughout the Seton Health system and St. Mary’s Hospital. In August 2011, the hospital’s gift shop was renamed Rose’s Gift Gallery in her honor.
Proceeds from the surprise party benefited the Seton Health Auxiliary, a non-profit organization in support of the mission of Seton Health/St. Mary’s Hospital. Founded in 1907, the Auxiliary has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to assist the hospital in attaining its goals.
