A letter from our Chief Nursing Officer
At Samaritan and St. Mary's hospitals our team of skilled and compassionate nurses touches the lives of our patients and their families throughout the course of their health care journey, profoundly impacting their well-being and clinical outcomes. We strive to foster an atmosphere that is conducive to personal and professional growth, and continually seek and apply the most innovative, evidence-based care to the practice of nursing. There is no better place to be a nurse than Samaritan and St. Mary's hospitals and no better time in our distinguished histories than now to be a part of our team.
From now through 2018, we will be transforming our two acute care Troy hospitals to better serve the emerging health care needs of our community. This project entails the construction, renovation, and modernization of facilities on both campuses, offering access to new services, greater convenience, and state-of-the-art care. This metamorphosis includes the construction of a new state-of-the-art, five-story, patient pavilion on the Samaritan campus and the conversion of the St. Mary's campus into a leading-edge outpatient facility.
We are a part of Trinity Health and St. Peter's Health Partners the region's largest and most comprehensive network of high-quality advanced medical care, primary care, rehabilitation, and senior services. We offer unprecedented professional opportunities for nurses. Whether at the bedside or other patient settings throughout our growing network of care, nurses play a crucial role in achieving our transformational vision.
As a nurse for close to forty years, I am tremendously proud of the extensive contributions that my colleagues here are making to patient care. We share a deep personal commitment to advancing the role of nurses throughout our organization, always striving for the highest standards of our profession. We have recently committed to the Magnet journey to assure the best practice environment thereby providing the highest quality of care.
Nurses heal with science and compassion for each and every patient. No other professional is a part of the patient's journey at each step of the way. We partner with our patients, families, physicians and with each other to provide patient-centered holistic care. The opportunity we have to make a difference inspires me every day. I hope that you too will find fulfillment in being a part of our team.
